Antisana 4 to 16 Oct '15

Written by Team Member, October 2015

In October 2015 I will be attempting a double summit challenge to climb an Ecuadorian volcano called Antisana (5704m). Alongside this I also hope to be able to climb Chimborazo, the highest volcano in Ecuador at 6268m. Both peaks will be challenging, Antisana especially so given its complex and delicate ascent route. I expect the climbing to be both cold and very hard work.

Travel is booked and the next ten months will be spent training and improving my fitness in preparation for the expedition. I am already focused on my second marathon in April and also hope to compete in some triathlons as well as continuing my hill walking and climbing.

In aiming for this double summit I also hope to raise awareness (and funds!) for the charity My Daddy is a soldier adventures. This charity exists to support children with parents serving in the armed services and to provide them with excitement, adventure and a network of other children in a caring and supportive environment.

My thanks go to K2 Architects for sponsoring the climb and contributing towards the specialist kit I need to get to the top.
