Trip Reports

Antisana - Oct '14

Written by Team Member Michael Twomey, November 2014

Excellent trip. 12 days including acclimatisation climbs sounded a bit tight but actually works. Antisana is a fantastic climb with complex navigation through the maze of crevasses. Jaime is a tremendous guide. He combines enthusiasm and good humour with impressive professionalism on the hill. First class night navigation, careful assessment of snow condition and crevasse risk. Decision to turn around 150m from the summit (due to crevasse barrier) was a sound one. Would happily climb with him again.

I notice your 2015 brochure regrades Antisana from 2B to 3B and I think you were right to do so. Haciendas were consistently good and the 4 nights in tents actually enhanced the trip« | »
