Cotopaxi - 18 Dec - 1 Jan '06

Written by Leader Andy Chapman, January 2006

The Cotopaxi expedition enjoyed good success on Iliniza North in some challenging conditions. The summit was achieved by David, David, Bob, Alison, Richard, Peregrine, Phil, Karyn, Andy and our able guide Fellipa. Sadly for most of the time in Ecuador we had very unseasonable weather that prevented a success on our main objective Cotopaxi, due to high avalanche risks. However, we did have a great Christmas in the tents on Iliniza with excellent food from Pablo our cook, and some impressive driving skill in the "super bus" by David our outstanding driver. We still don£t know how he managed to get up those muddy tracks! All in all, it was an amazing experience over the Christmas period with a really great group of People.
