Alps update from Andy Owen/Paul Famer IFMGA

Guide, Andy Owen, has sent this update from Cogne, Italy on Sunday evening:

"We had a very good week in Cogne, climbing Sentiero de Troll, Lillaz Gully and Patri, with plenty of coaching and practice on available icefalls and some new snow to finish.

Friday night brought heavy snow to Chamonix, with the valley looking more its winter self. Cogne is chilly (-12), and over the weekend we have climbed Antares in the Valsaveranche and Valmiana in Cogne."

Paul Farmer also commented over the weekend..

"Greetings from Servoz, which is fortunately a lot snowier than 48hrs ago. It snowed all day yesterday down to about 500m I think, which could be a real winter season saver, as there were primroses in flower round here last week! I was over in Val d'Isere/Tignes all last week which has better snow cover than anywhere else I've seen in Western Alps so far this winter - had some good descents towards the back end of the week. Bit cold and windy though. Off to Cogne on Monday for 4 nights with the Andy Owen on the ice climbing course."
