A challenging week aiming for three of the big Oberland summits - the Gross Grünhorn (4,043m), a traverse of the Gross Fiescherhorn (4,048m) and the Finsteraarhorn (4,274m) (the highest peak in the Oberland). This tour gives superb ski mountaineering for experienced skiers who have the skiing ability and fitness to fully enjoy big mountain days.

Start point: Brig

Outline Programme

Day 1:	Course participants meet at the course base at 7pm. Briefing on the week's activities in the evening.
Day 2-7:	After the first night at our hotel in Brig, we set off on a 6-day tour. Taking the Jungfraujoch railway through the bowels of the Eiger, we start skiing immediately at an altitude of 3,500m, across the upper part of a huge glacier basin rimmed by impressive peaks. From here, the route takes us by way of a succession of huts to the Rhone Valley, at the south-eastern end of the Oberland mountains. This week has a guiding ratio of 1:3 due to the technical nature of the peaks and has a fully flexible programme to give us the greatest chance of reaching our summits.
Day 8:	Dispersal. Breakfast will be provided on the last morning before climbers leave the course.

Pre-Course Skiing Ability

You should be an experienced Ski-Mountaineer able to ski off-piste to a high standard and to stay in control in all snow types. Expect some big days.
