Off Piste Skiing & Ski Mountaineering

Off Piste Skiing

Off Piste Skiing encompasses everything outside the piste-marker poles, from a few turns off the edge of a piste, to descents and ski-tours in the back of beyond. Whether your goal is simply to improve your technique, so that you can delight in skiing deep powder, or you aspire to ski mountaineer, our courses will help you get there.

We run three levels of coaching in the resorts of The 3 Valleys, Tignes and Verbier. To join our introductory courses, you need to be a confident piste skier who can link short turns on red runs.

Jagged Globe Off Piste Ski Courses are run by experienced professionals with a long track record skiing, touring and coaching all over the globe. Our instructors are qualified at the highest level and will help you take your skiing forward. The courses also include video feedback to assist your development (weather permitting!)

Ski Mountaineering

Ski Mountaineering is a great way to experience the mountains. The Alps offer some wonderful skiing opportunities, taking you away from the busy pistes with long, exciting off-piste runs and scenic tours over high passes and even to mountain summits. For our 11th season of ski mountaineering we continue to offer a varied choice of venues, covering the Alps from the Bernese Oberland to Chamonix, and as far afield as Japan.

To join our introductory level courses, you need to have previous off-piste experience and be able to ski linked, short radius turns confidently. We recommend that you join one of off-piste courses to gain these skills.

Our Ski Mountaineering Courses are led by IFMGA guides Jim Blyth and Andy Owen, both of whom have skied all over the Alps.
