Via Ferrata Courses

Guides and Ratios

We use a mixture of our own IFMGA qualified British Mountain Guides and local Italian Guides on our Via Ferrata courses. The local Italian guides hold the international mountain guides certificate. They are affiliated to the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA). There is no other qualification allowed for working in the Alps as a guide and the IFMGA carnet is the highest award available to professional mountaineers.

Venues and travel

Our courses are based at two separate locations:

Each course commences on the evening of the start date given in the programme and concludes after breakfast on the end date. Half-board accommodation in mountain huts is provided on the Bocchette Way. Bed and breakfast hotel accommodation is provided on the Via Ferrata Introduction, with one night spent in a mountain hut.

Participants need to make their own travel arrangements to the course venues, which can be conveniently reached from the UK by flying to Venice (Treviso) for the Via Ferrata Introduction or Milan (Bergamo) for the Bocchette Way. Detailed travel information for each venue is sent to you after we have received your booking and deposit per course booked.

Equipment

On booking a course, you receive Joining Instructions, which contain an up-to-date and definitive equipment list for your course. Special via ferrata equipment (lanyards) are included in the course cost, but must be booked in advance.
